Perhaps you've been wondering, "where can I dance tonight?!" Well, while there's not a Swing dance every night of the week, there's still plenty to do! Our Editor's Picks for weekly dances:
- Fridays - Sweet and Sauté Swing @ Sauté Bistro. Now, just $5, with live music every Friday!
- Saturdays - The Demitasse Dance at Te House of Tea (Except 3rd Saturdays, when the dance moves to Taft St. Coffee.)
- Sundays - HSDS's Dance (the biggest swing/lindy night in town, averaging 75+ people a week) at Melody Club
- Mondays - The El Orbits at the Continental Club. Although the crowd is smaller and more laid back, B1ngo games complete with "nearly worthless prizes" can't be beat! Rumor is there will be neither Bingo, nor El Orbits on Mondays in 2009 -- so get it while you can!
- Tuesdays - Get more sleep! Do laundry!
- Wednesdays - Get more sleep! Organize sock drawer!
- Thursdays - Blues and Swing to Luther and the Healers at The Big Easy
What else to do? Check the Calendar for a variety of other dance opportunities (and for times/details/cost for the aforementioned picks), or check out any of Houston's excellent and dancer-friendly live music venues such as The Big Easy, The Continental Club, or Dan Electro's!
