HSO is on-hold for a little while until we work out the best way to keep things up-to-date for everyone!
Swing has returned to Prince's Hamburgers! Take a trip back in time to when burgers were huge and juicy, onion rings counted as a full helping of vegetables and could make you stand up and shout, people drank creamy delicious milkshakes, not Aquafina-- and cholesterol did not exist!
Swing the evening away with your favorite tunes, and get re-acquainted with your inner Jitterbug!
Pull out your dancing shoes from 7 to 9 pm on the second Thursday (unless otherwise posted) of each month, and head out to Prince's Hamburgers on the Southwest Freeway at Wesleyan (map)! Please tip well and thank the manager for having us! The music will be best-suited for 6-count/East Coast Swing.

Second Cup Swing is hosting another special quarterly Essential Blues Moves Workshop for any dancer who wants to better feel and understand the source of their dance. This four-hour afternoon lead/follow workshop will focus on the Blues end of the Swing spectrum.
When you hear Blues music, your body responds naturally and organically. This energy wants to move in and through you, into the space around and beneath you. Blues energy can be communicated and received between dance partners and allowed to grow as it flows back and forth -- with each and every "conversation" being unique.
No partner or previous dance experience required though if you Swing with "connection" then that will certainly help. See their website for pricing and details.

Is Jazz and Chocolate your idea of a fantastic Thursday evening?
HSDS writes, "The Rice Village Chocolate Bar( (map) has live jazz music EVERY Thursday evening 7-10pm. The band is Buzz and The Blue Cats and the play very swing danceable music. They are a very versatile band and respond well to requests; so don't be bashful. They loved having dancers there the last time a group of dancers showed up. Please join us whether you want to dance or just listen and watch the dancers! Since this is a FREE event please be sure to patronize the Chocolate Bar and tip the band! "
